When I created Flat Shoals Designs I wanted gear that would withstand all of our messy, fun adventures as well as be stylish enough to stand out in a crowd. No one wants to sacrifice style for function and safety. With Flat Shoals Designs, you don’t have to! What are the collars made of?
All collars are made from a biothane beta material that looks and feels like leather.
How do I clean my collar/leash?
Use a cloth or paper towel with dish soap and warm water to wash off any mud or dirt. If your dog got into something super smelly, you can use diluted white vinegar to neutralize any odor. Wipe dry or air dry after washing or swimming.
What is the best way to measure my dogs neck?
You can find the measurement for your dog’s custom collar in two ways.
First, you can take a tailor’s measuring tape and measure around your dog’s neck. Make sure it is a comfortable fit- not too tight, but also not loose enough for your dog to pull out of.
You could also measure your dog’s favorite collar. Using the tailor’s tape, measure from the inside of the buckle/clasp to the end of the collar. If it is a buckle collar, measure to the hole you normally buckle it at.
How do the collars adjust?
These unique collars feature snaps to adjust the collar as needed. The collars come in small, medium, and large sizes and two choices for collar width, 3/4 inch or 1 inch. Much like your typical collar they are adjustable. They feature three different snaps to adjust the collar as needed; a looser fit for around the home, or a snugger fit for out and about on leash. To keep the collar secure, it is highly recommended that you always keep two snaps fastened.

All hardware used on products will be black.
Collar Buckles- These quick release collar buckles feature a tough and rugged design and are made of quality black zinc alloy metal.
Leash Clasps- These 360 degree swivel clasps rotate to help prevent twisting and tangling. They feature a strong metal design and have an easy to open and close hook.
